Des Raj Talwar's influence did not end with his death on June 30th, 2023. After a fulfilling life of 91 years, Des Raj passed away of natural causes, surrounded by the loving family that will keep his legacy alive for years to come. He was born in India to father Kundan Lal Talwar and mother Maya Devi Talwar.

A man of many talents, Des Raj graduated with a Masters degree in accounting. He then spent 19 dedicated years working for the US State Department in Kabul, Afghanistan. Later, he went on to be the head accountant at Kings County Hospital in New York. After a successful career, Des Raj moved to Virginia so he could be closer to his family.

He met his wife, Chanda Talwar, in 1959 and had a loving marriage with her for 64 years. Des Raj found joy in simple pleasures. Some of his favorite activities were reading, watching cricket matches, going on picnics, being anywhere near water, grilling and barbecuing, driving in the rain, and spending time with his family.

Des Raj is survived by his wife, Chanda, his children, Manoj, Sandeep, and Vibha, his daughters-in-law, Komal and Rekha, his son-in-law, Tony, and his grandchildren, Minakshi, Devika, Kamna, Huck, Karishma, and Dustin. Des Raj was an outstanding husband, father, brother, and grandfather. His family cherished every moment with him, and it is more than fair to say that his memory, quirks, catchphrases, and love will live in our hearts forever.
