-Ecclesiastes 3:4

Desiree Jacqueline Myrick was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 15, 1959, the eldest
daughter of the late Kenneth R. Myrick and Jacqueline E. Myrick. Desiree died peacefully at
11:35PM, Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Reston Hospital in the presence of her faithful husband,
Deacon Joseph Maio. In God's timing and providence, Desiree died on her father's birthday and

Being from a military family, Desi traveled many places in the country from Florida, Washington
D. C., Hawaii, and Upstate New York. Desi's early education was in Baltimore, MD. She

Chesapeake, VA, 1991-1992.

Desiree was a counselor in New Hampshire in 1985, a parent aide volunteer in New London,
Connecticut in 1986, a crisis pregnancy volunteer and a counselling intern in Virginia Beach,
from 1992-1993. Desiree also served as a graduate assistant to counselling professors, and as
law library clerk at Regent University in Virginia Beach. She served as a special education aide in
New London, CT, a substitute mom in Yokosuka, Japan, a Christian retreat leader in Hino Japan,
and an assistant teacher in Fairfax, VA.

While attending Regent University, Desiree met Joseph Maio. They developed a friendship and
great love for each other. They were married on 16 December 1995. During their 27-year
marriage their family grew with the birth of three daughters Elizabeth Louise, Hannah Marie
and Faith Ann Maio. Desi was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and beloved
friend to many.

Desi accepted Christ in her life at a very young age. While living in different parts of the world
she attended many churches. Desiree was a member of Shepherd's Heart Anglican Church in
Fairfax, VA, where Joseph serves as Vocational Deacon. Desiree sang with the Shepherd's Heart
Anglican Church Choir. She was an active and faithful member of the church. Desiree loved the
Lord and showed it in her daily life as a loving wife, mother, and friend.
