Obituary

Dionisio Centeno Palo at 83 years old passed away peacefully in his hospital bed on September 3, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Dionisio was born to Marcial and Lucila Palo in Manila, Philippines.  He comes from a family of six (6) children, survived by his loving wife for 54 years, Luisita Palo and youngest sibling Maria Salome (Palo) Balingit.  He has four (4) children, daughters Lorna (Palo) Alacbay, Marissa Palo (deceased) and sons Dennis Palo and Joel Palo.  He also left behind many nieces and nephews.   With daughter Lorna and son-in-law, Eddie Alacbay, he has one grandson, Lorenz Alacbay, whom he loves so dearly.

He lived a long and wonderful 83 years adoring God's creations, nature and engaging to music as his passion.  God gifted him with talents in dancing, playing different musical instruments and a beautiful voice that made him love to sing.  Talents that he passed on to his children and nephews.  In return for God's love and blessings he served Him through his music as "cursillista", fulfill his Sunday obligations to the Lord and had remained a devout catholic Christian.

Dionisio was a hard worker and a good provider as evidence by not wanting to stop working even when already on his hospital bed.  He retired from Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as Captain of the Traffic Enforcement Motorcycle Unit.  His dedication to his career in the government service led to his being awarded three (3) times as the Philippines' Most Outstanding Policeman.

He had committed himself in public service throughout his life.  He had left a legacy with his good friend Feliciano Purificacion (deceased) as founders of The Kapisanan Ng Mga Haligi Ng Nayon which succeeded in its goal for true-blooded Filipinos to own a piece of the land occupied by wealthy family of Spanish decent in a part of Manila near the Malacanang Palace.

Often he would say, "If there is something I can give so much without expecting anything in return, that would be love".  He left earth with tons of love for his family, friends, neighbors and co-workers in his birth country, the Philippines and here in his forever home, the United States of America.
