Obituary

Donald C. Fenton

1918 – 2019

Donald C. Fenton passed away on February 10, 2019 in Potomac Falls, VA. He was born on October 28, 1918 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Chauncey and Marguerite Fenton.

Donald joined the United States Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Donald withdrew from Lafayette College to enroll in the Air Force in order to serve in World War II.  He taught bombardier classes and then later became a bombardier flying in B17s, searching for U-boats in the North Atlantic.  During the war he was stationed in Newfoundland.  After the war Donald served in Germany and later in Oslo, Norway, where he worked with NATO.

During his time in the Air Force, he met and married Margaret Macrae and they had two step-children, daughter Dana, of Mexico, and son William, deceased of New York.  They also have a niece, Nancy Havera, of Illinois and a nephew, Col. (Army retired) Lee Greene, of Texas.

After retirement, Donald and Margaret decided to move from California to Falcons Landing and were some of the earliest residents, moving into the community in June 1996.

Two of Donald's favorite past times were sports and finance.  He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

He is survived by his loving wife Megan, daughter Dana, niece Nancy, and nephew Lee.

Cremation will be accorded, with scattering of ashes at a later date in the Shenandoah River.
