Douglas E. Nunley
January 15, 1964 – January 2, 2025

Douglas Edward Nunley, age 60, of Round Hill, Virginia passed away on January 2, 2025, at the Potomac Falls Health and Rehab Center in Sterling, Virginia.

Born on January 15, 1964, in Alexandria, Virginia, Doug attended the special education center at Douglass School in Leesburg, Virginia. Upon completing school, he enjoyed working for many years with ECHO of Leesburg; he would eagerly await their bus to transport him to their workshop and other community-based employment sites. He also volunteered his time at many locations throughout the years.

Doug was a lover of life's simple pleasures. He found immense happiness in dancing to classic rock and country music, the camaraderie of bowling with his friends, and creating artwork using colored markers.  But his most unmistakable joy was his frequent visits to McDonald's for a Happy Meal.

Doug was good-natured and laughed easily. He was very willing to give hugs and high fives, bringing joy to those who knew him.  His easygoing nature and infectious laughter were his trademarks which endeared him to many. His presence was a light to his family, friends, and the many acquaintances he made throughout his life who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. May his love of laughter and life inspire those who carry his memory forward.

Doug is survived by his family, Bob and Nancy Rodriguez of Round Hill, VA, Brian Rodriguez of Prosser, WA, Kevin Rodriguez of Charlotte, NC, Rich Rodriguez of North Garden, VA and Ryan Rodriguez of Charlotte, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Doug's life will be held at 10 am on January 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hamilton VA.  Donations may be made in his name to ECHO in Leesburg or the National Association for Down Syndrome.

Doug's gentle nature and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
