Earl James, 88, of Paeonian Springs, VA, went to his eternal home on December 11, 2016. Loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was born May 20, 1928 in Lee County, Virginia to the late John Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth James.  He was a gifted carpenter and musician.  He was married 64 years to Evelyn James, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons, Donnie Eugene and Jimmy Lawrence; Daughters, Sandra Victoria, Cynthia Ann, Linda Diane, Nancy Ellen.  Six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Sue, and sons, Earl Michael and Jerry Allen.

The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA on Thursday, December 15 ^th from 10 to 11 a.m.  The service will follow at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Robert N. Glascock.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Hamilton, VA.
