Edith Virginia Howser, 82, passed away Tuesday, August 2nd peacefully at her home in Leesburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Shuff of Leesburg, VA. Her oldest daughter, Deborah Howser Burgess pre-deceased her. She was also pre-deceased by siblings Virgie Bodmer, Frank Howser, and Owen Howser.
She is survived by her husband, Robert T. Howser, Jr.; a sister, Frances Miller of Cockeysville, MD; daughters, Connie Stevens of Leesburg, Wendy Jones (Bill) of Leesburg, and Tammy Jo Carpenter (Dan) of Bluemont, VA; grandchildren, Crystal Burgess, Trae Burgess, Stephanie Stevens, Brett Jones, Tanner Jones, Zac Carpenter and Nic Carpenter.
Edith was born in Leesburg, VA, where she attended Leesburg High School. She worked 22 years for LCPS as a secretary at Broad Run High School. After retirement she volunteered at Blossom and Bloom Thrift Store. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing slot machines, cruising, and watching DC area sports teams with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She adored her seven grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, August 4th, from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, August 5th, at 11 am at Colonial Funeral Home. She will be interred at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Va.
The family requests that donations be made to Blossom and Bloom Thrift Store, 110 West Market Street, Leesburg, Va., in her memory.
