February 4, 1944 – March 15, 2017
Leesburg resident, Edward John Daigneau, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2017 in Leesburg, VA. He was 73 year old.
Ed was born in McDonald, Ohio, the son of Edward N. and Helen (Vukovinsky) Daigneau along with sibling Karen Daigneau Haworth. He was married to his loving wife of 50 yr., Carol A. Zockle Daigneau. Ed leaves behind his daughter Michelle Daigneau VanBibber (son-in-law) Michael VanBibber, and son, Joseph Edward Daigneau (daughter-in-law) Kristin Page Daigneau. He was also devoted to his 4 grandchildren, Tyler and Helina VanBibber and Troy and Leah Daigneau.
Ed received his Associates Degree in Engineering from Kent State University. He began his career as a draftsman for Wean Engineering in Warren, Ohio. In later years, Ed moved on to sales in the steel fabricating industry and worked for several companies in the Ohio area. In 1985, Ed moved his family to Virginia and worked for a company in Tyson's Corners in fabricated steel. In 1986, Ed moved his business into his home and became a sales rep for companies in Ohio and Delaware, continuing his expertise in the steel industry. One of Ed's bigger jobs was the Salamander Inn in Middleburg, VA. Ed retired shortly after completing this job.
Ed was a veteran, serving 6 years at Youngstown Air Force Base. Ed was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, first in Ohio, and later, with the council in Leesburg, Virginia where he served as Grand Knight for the Leesburg Council for a year. Ed's passions were family, church, hunting, fishing, and talking politics.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at St John the Apostle Catholic Church, 101 Oakcrest Manor Dr., NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 in the Garden Room. A funeral mass will follow at 1:30 PM in the church with Reverend Francis Peffley officiating. He will be assisted by Deacon Gerald Savo.
