Eleanore I. Glod, 96, a former personnel director with Arlington Hospital, passed away on December 30, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Glod, a Lansdowne resident, was a native of Schenectady, New York.  She was born to parents Steven K. and Mabel (Trojakowski) Zasada, deceased.

Along with her employment with the Arlington Hospital she held the position of secretary with the FBI and worked in the sales department at Lord & Taylor.  She was a member of the StoneyBrook Garden Club in Broyhill Park of Falls Church, Virginia where she made beautiful flower arrangements.  Eleanore looked forward to the yearly family vacations in Kiawah Island in South Carolina.

Eleanore and her husband Walter of 57 years, (who preceded her on March 28, 2005) lived in Broyhill Park in Falls Church, Virginia between 1954 to 1998.  She later moved to Leisure World in Lansdowne in 1998 where she lived up to the time of her passing.

Although Eleanore is gone from our sight, she will continue to live on in the hearts of the loved ones she leaves behind.

Survivors include her children Paula Bush of Lansdowne and Walter J. Glod, Jr. of Richmond, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 on Thursday, January 5, 2017 between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm, during which time prayers will be said.  A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2017 starting at 10:00 am at Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church, Leesburg, Virginia.  Burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.
