Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Cunningham Majersky was born in 1927, in Camden NJ. She was raised in Moorestown, and graduated as Salutatorian of that high school in 1945. She entered the Navy nursing program, and at the end of WWII, received her R.N. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She married Ernest J. Majersky of NYC in 1951, and they were original settlers of Levittown PA. She was the mother of three daughters, and worked in hospitals and nursing homes. She became employed by the City of Philadelphia, and worked for the major part of her career at the Riverview Nursing Home, and in the infirmary at Holmesburg Prison. She was a proud member of AFSCME. In 1990, after her retirement, she, her husband and one daughter moved to Athens GA. Her husband died in 2006, and she spent the last years of her life in a nursing home in Leesburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Thomas and Jennie (Moore) Cunningham, and her brother Thomas (Tim) Cunningham. She is survived by her older sister Ann Gillespie, of Pitman NJ, and her daughters Lisa Majersky of Athens GA, Julie Kvoriak of Montclair NJ, and Paula Buscavage of Leesburg VA, and four grand-children.
