Obituary

ELMO E. ("SCUFF') BALL, III, a resident of Lovettsville, Virginia, died January 11, 2009, at Loudoun Inova Hospital, surrounded by his family. He suffered from a bone marrow disease, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, and kidney failure.
He was born in Washington, D.C., on December 22, 1938, to Elmo E. Ball, Jr. and Lelia P. Ball. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nancy; sons Elmo E. ("Scott") Ball, IV, of Winchester, and Jeffrey G. Ball, of Leesburg; daughters-in-law Kimberli Grove Ball and Sharon A. Ball; grandson Alexander E. Ball; brother Larry P. Ball; sister-in-law Sue; and two nieces.
Mr. Ball was a graduate of Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, and of Bridgewater College, where he was a member of the golf team. He was an avid golfer until his illness. He was retired from Potomac Valley Brick and Supply Company, Rockville, Maryland, and was known for his ability to identify and match brick types for restorations.
A private family memorial service will be held and his ashes placed at Eco¬Eternity of Camp Highroad.
