Mrs. Elsie Virginia Kirkpatrick Light, Waterford, Virginia passed away on October 20, 2011 at Loudoun Hospital. She was born in Leesburg, Virginia on May 4, 1913 to the late James Henry Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Rosa Virginia Rutter Kirkpatrick. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Blaker Light.

She is survived by her three children, Charles H. Light and Vivian Light of the home in Waterford, and Ruby Hissam of Ashburn, grandchildren Cindy Hissam and Jenny Kiani; great grandchildren Kristina Garrison, Amanda Meyer, Andrew Stevenson, Adam Stevenson, Nathan Catchings, Kai Madsen, Evan Kiani and Roya Kiani and great great grandchildren Madison Garrison and Caroline Garrison.

A time of visitation for family and friends has been set for Monday, October 24, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. Funeral services will be held at Harmony United Methodist Church, 380 E. Colonial Highway, Hamilton, VA 20158 on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Vineyard officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
