Emma (Marie) Lawson

November 25, 1932 - December 21, 2016

Emma "Marie" Lawson was a lifelong resident of Loudoun County. Marie passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on December 21, 2016. She was born in Lucketts, Virginia in 1932 to the late Ode Elton and Virginia Mae Frye of Lucketts. She was the 15 th child of 18 children born and raised on the Frye home place in the Lost Corner area of Lucketts, just down the hill from the current Girl Scout Camp. She spent her entire life and raised her family less than three miles from her original birthplace. She was 84. She is predeceased by her son, Christopher 'Punky' Lawson, and her husband, Zane Lawson.

She was the beloved mother of her three sons: Wendell Lawson, Jeff (Kat) Lawson and Keith (Karen) Lawson, five grandchildren: Wesley, Adrienne (Adam) Burton, Bailee, Jacob and Lauren, and three great-grandchildren: Jake, Aria and Charlie. She is also survived by four siblings: Violet Cooper, James Frye, Goldie Bates & Francis Austin, all of Loudoun County, Virginia.

Marie was a devoted mother and wife who spent her life caring for others. She was formerly a nurse at the Leesburg hospital and eventually became a private practice nurse supporting multiple doctors in the Leesburg area in the 1950's and '60s. After marrying Zane, she left the workplace to support the family business, Lawson Pre-Cast Septic Tanks. She continued her life of caregiving as an avid homemaker and cleaning houses for families in the Loudoun community throughout most of her life.
