Erika Marie Turner, age 23, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend left this world on April 2, 2023. She was born in Fairfax, Virginia on January 19, 2000 to Kerri and Joel Turner.

Although only 23 at the time of her death, Erika affected many people in her lifetime. She was deeply committed to educating others on the importance of diversity and inclusion. As a senior at George Mason University, she was the Founding member and President of the Special Olympics Club. She also enjoyed tutoring GMU students in Finance.

Erika was a lover of animals especially her pets Stitch and Fluke.  She enjoyed shopping, writing with gel pens, cooking, and entertaining friends with her artistic charcuterie board designs.

We will always remember her infectious laughter, smile and caring personality.

When you think of Erika, remember her humor, spunky spirit and how those piercing blue eyes would light up the room. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

Erika was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents James and Marion Turner.  She leaves behind her parents, grandparents, Robert and Marlene Tahaney and Shirley Goodrich; aunts and uncles, Joy and Sean Tahaney, Dawn and Jeff Williams, Cheryl and Jon Turner, Mary and Jim Turner, and Beth Turner; cousins, Bill, Cameron (Summer), Jennifer, Carrie (Henry), Kelsey, Madison, Jamie (Gavin), Chris (Joyce), Amanda and Melissa (Blake).

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and funeral to honor Erika's life. The visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.  Funeral services are Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 11am. Both will be held at Colonial Funeral Home 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.
