Erma Lee Murray, 74, died with her family by her side on Sunday, December 15 at her home in Leesburg, VA. She was born in 1939 in West Virginia and moved to the Washington DC area at 18 years of age. Erma worked for the Army Audit agency the majority of her career and retired in 1991. She later worked for a local attorney in Leesburg, VA.

Loving mother, wife and grandmother, Erma devoted her life to her family. She was a deeply thoughtful and kind person and a friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, reading, observing backyard wildlife, shopping and most of all caring for all of her children, step children and grandchildren. Erma was a vibrant woman and had a very keen sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kenneth Murray of Leesburg , VA; one daughter, Anne Marie Pelletier of Springfield , VA and one son, Jeffrey John Pelletier of Davenport, IA; Four step-children, Kenny Murray of Fredericksburg, VA, Debra Murray Lemon of Venice, CA, Jeffrey Murray of Charlotte, NC and Sean Murray of Kingston, NY; One sister, Ruby Haines Lewis of Martinsburg, WV and one brother, Steve Haines of Aiken SC, Aunt Sis of Martinsburg, WV; Two grandchildren, Ashley Woolard Pelletier of Carterville, IL and Jacob Pelletier Louisville, KY; Nine step grandchildren, Rachel Murray of Fredericksburg VA, Jacob Murray of Fredericksburg, VA, Zachery Murray of Fredericksburg, VA, Jeffery Murray of Charlotte, NC, Joseph Murray of Charlotte, NC, Avery Murray of Charlotte, NC, Lucy Lemon of Venice, CA, Connor Murray Kingston, New York , Logan Murray of Charlotte, NC and one great grandchild, Eden Woolard of Carterville, IL.

A time of visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. Services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
