IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene Arnold
Beaumont
October 20, 1927 – January 26, 2016
EUGENE ARNOLD GLEN BEAUMONT (Cmdr, USN, Retired)
October 20, 1927 – January 26, 2016
After a long battle with dementia, our beloved husband and father entered the
Church Triumphant on January 26, 2016. His career in the United States Navy
spanned 32 years, including command of three submarines (USS Scabbardfish,
USS Tilefish, USS Threadfin). Tours of duty took his family to Oslo, Norway and
Ankara, Turkey, as well as seaside ports in California, Florida and Virginia. First
and foremost, he was a man of God, always sharing his faith.
After retirement from the Navy, Gene continued to work at IIDI
(International Institute for Development Inc.), keeping the books at Community
Bible Study, and volunteering as the bookkeeper at the Ashburn Volunteer Fire
Department. He loved to swim and spend time with his wife and family and their
Sunday School class at 4 th Presbyterian Church. Gene was noted for doing
crossword puzzles in ink.
His family who celebrates his life in heaven and mourns his passing are his wife,
Nilda Sanchez Beaumont, his daughters, Elizabeth B. Jirel (Ken), Victoria Beaumont, Linda B. Dean (David), his grandchildren, Meagan Costantino (Brandon), Christopher Lee, David Dean, Molly Giles (Matt), Debbie Dean, Clark Dean, Tori Dean, Abby Dean, Anna Dean and his great grandchildren, Caroline Costantino, Harper Costantino. Other family members include his brother Jay Beaumont of Portland, Oregon, sister Beverly Moore of Los Angeles and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held later at Arlington National Cemetery.
