Eunice Thomas Strange was born on December 13, 1941 in Harnett County, North Carolina. Eunice was a special and unique woman who had many gifts and talents. Eunice was the second oldest of five girls and one boy (stillborn) to the late Deacon Cisroe Lee Thomas and Evangelist Octavia Prince Thomas. Eunice was an active and influential girl in Johnsonville Schools as a star basketball player, model student, and she drove one of their school buses.
Eunice began to make her mark when she enrolled in Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC (FSU). At FSU she received her Bachelor's degree in Education in 1964. This positioned her to become a world traveler, a distinguished elegant woman, as well as a Spiritual Warrior.
Eunice became a world traveler when she met and married an Army Officer named Theodore R. Strange, Jr. in 1965. Eunice lived in Germany for three years and was afforded the opportunity to tour Italy, Holland, Spain, France, and Panama. Eunice rowed in a Gondola and purchased chandeliers in Italy; bought clogs in Holland, toured the famous windmills and tulip gardens, as well as visited the miniature city in Amsterdam.
Stateside she lived in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and of course North Carolina. She visited other states such as California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, and South Carolina just to name a few stops in the United States.
Eunice a distinguished and elegant woman became a Director in Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1974. There were very few African American women who had attained this position. In the 1980's and 1990's Eunice ventured into Olde Worlde Products, Excel Communications, Barley Green Products, and a number of other "Self-Made" entrepreneur opportunities while continuing her teaching career as a Third Grade teacher in the Loudon County Public School System in Virginia.
Eunice retired from being a salaried teacher, packed her bags in Virginia in 2000 and moved back to her home state of North Carolina to care for her father and mother until the Lord came to carry them home. Eunice became a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) and began another career with Parkview Nurse's Aide of Sanford, NC.
Eunice was always a strong pillar in the church starting on her spiritual journey at Chalk Level Church, Harnett County, NC. Eunice continued to grow in the Lord and in the ministry God gave her. She was the Mother of the church while living in Germany. She assisted many souls to the throne of Grace at Cedar Lane Bibleway Church in Sterling, VA under Elder Alfred Archer. She assisted in the growth of Nothing Impossible Ministries and End Time Ministries under Drs. James and Jean Flanagan in Reston and Sandston, VA respectively.
Eunice assisted Exousia Christian Fellowship under Pastor Steve Chesney in Sanford, NC. Eunice helped young ministries, growing ministries, and mature ministries while Eunice Thomas Strange (ETS) Ministries continued to be sought after and referenced amongst ministries, pastors, elders, bishops, and apostles. Eunice continued her Christian education by earning a Master's degree in Christian Studies and a Doctor's degree in Ministry both from Moriah Institute of Christian Studies at the ripe age of sixty-seven. Eunice believed that "education" was a key that unlocked any and every door, and the key no one can take from you.
Dr. Eunice Thomas Strange's spirit of excellence, dedication, charity, and commitment is shared by her two children: Sr. Deaconess Sonja Strange Jackson (Sr. Deacon Eric) and Minister Theodore R. Strange III (Sr. Deaconess Dena); five grandchildren, Nicholas B. Brown, Jr., Jordyn A. Strange, Theodore R. Strange IV, Eric Nasir Jackson, and Sheridyn J. Strange; four sisters, Dr. Clara Hickey (Elder David), Linda Johnson, Mabel Thomas, and Bonnie Thomas; Aunt Minnie Wells of Baltimore, MD; Uncle Nathaniel Gunn of Harnett County, NC, and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to list; however, not forgotten.
