Foyster Mullins, Jr., of Leesburg passed away at home in the care of loved ones on April 4, 2011. He was 63 years old.
He was born on December 14, 1947 in Pound, Virginia to the late Foyster Mullins and Elaine Lillian Mullins.
Mr. Mullins was a long-time resident of Leesburg and grew up in Manassas, VA. He retired from SSI, Inc. at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia in September 2009, he was employed with them for 23 years as a carpenter and woodworker. He was a member of the Colchester Freewill Baptist Church in Nokesville, VA for 36 years. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars and woodworking but most of all his family and his strong belief in God, to whom he constantly attributed his endured strength.
Those he leaves behind are his loving wife of 44 years, Linda D. Mullins; two daughters, Sherry Mullins Polend of Bluemont, VA and her husband Greg Polend, and Tabatha Mullins of Leesburg; three grandchildren, Gregory Polend, Jr., Nicolette Polend and Collin Mullins-Saunders. He is also survived by four sisters, Martha Durham of Church Hill, TN, Sharon Owens and husband Elmo Owens of Kingsport, TN, Letha Thompson and husband Raymond Thompson of Martinsville, VA, Shirley Edelen and her husband Matt Edelen of Chesapeake Beach, MD and his brother John Mullins and wife Mamie Mullins of Leesburg and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by two brothers, Tommy Mullins and Russell Mullins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from
6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., Leesburg, VA 20176 where services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 11am with Rev. Joel Slemp officiating with interment immediately thereafter at Union Cemetery in Leesburg. Family and friends are invited to a reception at Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg. Pall Bearers are: John Mullins, Jr, Bruce Mullins, Greg Polend, Raymond Thompson, Matt Edelen and Dallas Slemp.
