Frances Leona Frye Austin, 90, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 26, 2020, at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility, having died from COVID-19 after being sick for seven days.

Frances was the thirteenth sibling of eighteen children born to parents Ode Elton Frye and Virgie Mae Barnhouse Frye.  She was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings except one sister, Violet Lorraine Frye Cooper.

Frances married W.D.Austin and had four sons, James, David, Dennis and Richard.  She spent her early years focused on her home life, raising her sons, gardening and when the time came doting on all her grandkids.  Once her husband died, she worked at Broad Run High School as a cafeteria cook for 17 years.

Frances was predeceased by three of her sons, James, David and Richard.  She is survived by her son Dennis (Bonnie), three daughters-in-law, Jenny, Karen and Alta, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Furnace Mountain Presbyterian Church, 12946 James Monroe Hwy, Leesburg, Va 20176 or the Lucketts Fire Company.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10:00 am at Furnace Mountain Cemetery.
