Francis (Frank) Joseph Santella, age 67, passed away peacefully October 21, 2019, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.  He was a former resident of Leesburg and currently residing in Purcellville, Virginia, with his wife, Jennifer.

Frank was born in Valley Stream, NY, September 1, 1952, to Michael and Josephine (Pellegrino) Santella.  He worked for Grumman Corporation a number of years before transferring to northern Virginia in 1987.  At the time of his death, he was employed at NOVA Community College.

In 1988, Frank became a member of the 14 ^th Brooklyn Civil War reenactment group and participated in numerous events over the years.  Frank loved the New York Yankees, Frank Sinatra and Beatles music, smoking great cigars, cooking with garlic, his cabin in the mountains, great hats and most of all, his family and friends.  He was proud of his Italian heritage and had a sense of humor that was legendary.

Frank was preceded in Death by his father, Michael Santella.  He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; mother, Josephine Santella of Seminole, FL; sister Roseann Santella and husband Russell; 4 children – Vinnie Santella and wife Marisol of Patchogue, NY; Jessica Hassranah and husband Joseph of Lindenhurst, NY; Michael Santella and wife Maria of Riverhead, NY; and Frankie Santella of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg, VA, with viewings that day at 10 am-noon and 1-2 pm.  For those who prefer not to send flowers, donations may be made to the 14 ^th Brooklyn Society, P.O.
