Franklin George Silva, 75, passed away on September 13, 2020 in Leesburg, Virginia.  He was born on May 14 th , 1945 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  He was preceded by the death of his parents, Lloyd and Vivien and brother, Tony.  He is survived by his wife, Henricka Silva, and son and daughter in-law, Seth and Maria Silva.  Franklin (was loving called Frank), loved his grandchildren.  He was a proud grandfather of his 3 beautiful grandchildren, Hanna, Grace, and Gemma.

He grew up in Colombo, Sri Lanka into a family of 7, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.  He later married Henricka on February 2, 1980 and immediately moved to London, England.  Henricka and him moved from England to Alberta, Canada then to Toronto, Canada where they had their only son, Seth.  They then moved from Toronto to California where they settled down for 29 years.  Henricka and Frank moved one last time to Ashburn, Virginia prior to the birth of their first granddaughter.

Frank worked as a database administrator and computer programmer for his career.  He loved to read and watch sports.  He was always rooting for the Lakers and many a time can be seen encouraging them through the television.

He was known for his joking nature.  He loved children and he loved to make people laugh.

Visitations will be at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, Virginia on September 18, 2020 at 12:30 pm EDT.  Immediately following will be the funeral Mass starting a 1:00 pm EDT.  The burial will be at Sterling Cemetery following the funeral Mass.
