Gavin Muir Jacobs, a safety technician, and new resident of Fairfield, CA died unexpectedly on August 18 ^th , 2018 at the age of 36.

Gavin is survived by his parents, Marybeth Muir, Ramon (Bud) Jacobs, and Janice Pittleman; his wife Kara Jacobs (nee Mills), his children Tiana Jacobs, Riley Jacobs, and Ryan Jacobs; and his brother Will Jacobs. He is proceeded by his grandparents Helen and Alexander Muir and Robert L. Spinks and Ora Lu Miller-Spinks.

Gavin was born in Leesburg, VA on April 2, 1982 to Marybeth Muir and Ramon (Bud) Jacobs. As a child he was full of compassion and curiosity. He was a giving and caring child, who grew up to be a loving and caring husband and father.

Gavin was an avid fisherman, hiker and traveler. His love of traveling took him around the world, and he visited more than 10 countries in his quest to see the world. He enjoyed experiencing and soaking in foreign cultures and all the beauty he encountered in the world. He enjoyed recounting and sharing his travels with anyone who would listen. While he had many passions, the one thing he loved the most was being a father and husband. He reveled in his children's laughter and in their spirit and that passion of his spirit remains with us today.

Family, friends and others whose lives Gavin touched are invited to visit and reminisce between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 where services will immediately follow starting at 11 a.m.  The family will host guests at the Old Stone School in Hillsboro, VA following the service.
