Obituary
Geneva (Genie) Oden Norman, 80, of Leesburg, VA passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held 3-4 PM Sunday, February 13, at Leesburg Community Church. A memorial service will be held in Minden, LA on Saturday, February 19.
Born December 17, 1930 in Panola, TX, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Oden and Lorene Darby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Van Harris Norman and her brother, John Hoyt Oden.
Mrs. Norman is survived by her daughter and her family of Herndon, VA, Dr. Brooks and Karen Norman Van Horn, Jr.; two grandchildren, Brooks Van Horn III, PhD of Berkeley, CA and Dr. Micah and Katherine Van Horn Schmidt of Eagle River, Alaska; four great-grandchildren, Darby, Andrew, Noah and Daniel Schmidt; and many other close relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leesburg Community Church, 835 Lee Ave. SW, Leesburg, VA 20175.
