In loving memory of George Richard Hatterick, who passed away on December 23, 2023, in Leesburg, VA at the age of 90.

George (also known as Dick) was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Jean Loughlin Hatterick; parents, Frederick J. Hatterick, Sr. and Mary Lucille Gatwood; and brother, Frederick J. Hatterick, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Randy) Minchew of Leesburg, VA, and his son, Jeffrey S. (Terri) Hatterick of Fairfax Station, VA; granddaughter Kirsten Hatterick Smith (Jake) and their two sons; and
grandsons Kyle Hatterick (Christine) and Jack Minchew.

Dick was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 20, 1933. He remained in his hometown for his education at the University of Cincinnati, paving the way for a distinguished career as a human factors engineer, primarily in the aerospace industry. Dick met Patti through family friends while studying for his Master's degree in Cincinnati; they married in 1957 before beginning a life together that took them to locales throughout the eastern United States, including New England, the Rochester, NY area, and Huntsville, Alabama. The deepest roots, however, were put down in Fairfax, Virginia, which was his home from 1974 through 2021.

Dick attained the rank of captain in the US Army, serving in the reserves through the mid-1960's. He and Patti enjoyed traveling in their RV, bike riding, taking care of their garden, and keeping up with family. Dick's pride in his family, especially his
grandchildren, was evident, whose various sporting and school events he attended whenever possible.
