On Monday May 26, 2014 in Ashburn VA. He was married to Mary S. Hipps for 55 years before she passed away in 2008. His son, Gary died in 2006.
George is survived by his sister Sarah of Silver Spring MD, and his son Geoffrey, his partner Jacques and his grandsons Yannick and Julien-George of Montreal, QC.
George graduated from G. W. University Law School in 1955 and shortly thereafter began a career with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Holding many positions, he rose to the title of Associate General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing. Leaving the government in 1983, George continued his career in various consulting positions related to multifamily housing and healthcare facilities before retiring from his professional life in 1997.
A gathering of his family and friends will be held at a later date.
