George R. Virts "Richard" 82 passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022 in Leesburg. Lifelong resident of Loudoun County. Richard enjoyed bowling, baseball and golf. Before retiring he worked as a painter and carpenter. He was  born on November 26,1939. He is preceded by his parents Ernest F. Virts and Doris L. Virts, two sisters Ellen Gant and Peggy Virts both of Leesburg, One brother Eugene Virts of Kearneyville, WV. He leaves behind 4 children Sandra Christy of Maryland, Richard A.Virts, Joyce A.Virts and George F. Virts all of Leesburg, Virginia. Also two sisters Betty M. Virts Davidson of Lexington, Kentucky and Mary Virginia Sudduth of Hamilton, Virginia.

A visitation will be held in his honor at Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 2:00pm. Honorable pallbearers are: George F. Virts, Bucky Tumblin, Mark Carter, Lee Gant, Kevin Cole and Benny Woodward. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, in Lovettsville.
