Gertrude Reed Daniel passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 90 years old.

Born January 13, 1928 in Purcellville, Virginia she was the proud daughter of John and Mable (Ellmore) Reed.   Gertrude and her husband Thomas Arthur Daniel, Jr. made their home in Leesburg, Virginia.  They were blessed with a devoted son, David Leon Daniel.  Along with her role as a loving wife and mother, Gertrude held a positions in the clerical field, working for Fairfax County, Virginia and The Treasures office of Loudoun County, Virginia.



Gertrude found pleasure in caring for others while brightening their day.  She could frequently be found at Madison House in Leesburg doing just that.  It brought her as much joy as it did to those she helped.  Gertrude had a passion for gardening.  She planted and tended a large vegetable garden each year, which yielded many crops.  She also had quite a talent for flower gardening as well; growing the most beautiful flowers.

Although she is no longer with us, her memories will continue to live on in the hearts of the many lives she has touched.

Graveside services are planned for 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
