Purcellville, VA – Glenn 'Reiff' Lesher, age 62, died peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. Reiff was born on August 21, 1951 in Cheverly, Maryland, the son of Glenn and Mary Ellen (Booker)
Lesher.
Reiff graduated from Suitland High School in Forestville, Maryland in 1969 and the University of Maryland in 1973 with a B.S. in Health Education. He attended Capital Seminary in Lanham, Maryland and was awarded a
Masters Degree in Counseling at Fairfield University in Fairfield,
Connecticut.
Reiff began his career as a science teacher at Glenwood Middle School, Glenwood, Maryland and pastored at: the Church of the Open Door, Westminster, Maryland; Grace Baptist Church, Milford, Connecticut; Montrose Baptist Church, Rockville, Maryland; Leesburg Community Church, Leesburg, Virginia and the Round Hill Community Worship Center Church, Round Hill, Virginia. Reiff served as the Chaplain for the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Leesburg, Virginia and for Marketplace Ministries. He joined The Navigators in 2010 and focused on Metro-Missions.
Reiff had a wonderful sense of humor and poured his extraordinary love for his family, sports and the
church into many community activities including coaching and a lifelong passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Reiff is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, and love of his life, Pamela Kay (Nixon); sons, Todd Reiff and wife Abbey (Wren) of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Brett Rolenn and wife, Callie (Hermann) of Reston, Virginia; and daughter, Molly Hope; sister, Susan Lesher; brother, Craig Lesher; and three
grandsons, Allen, Watson and Elias.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesburg Community
Church, 835 Lee Avenue SW, Leesburg, Virginia with Reverends Alan Stanford and Todd Lesher
officiating. A private burial will follow.
