Mr. Grayson Carroll "Pete" Reed, 89, of Lovettsville, Va., passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. He was the husband of the late Anna May Crouse Reed, his wife of 65 years.
Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Lovettsville, Va., he was the son of the late Margaret Catherine Green Reed Harrison and the late Carl Smith Reed.

Mr. Reed was a farmer all of his life.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and the Redskins.

Mr. Reed is survived by three daughters, Louise Coates, Patsy Frye and husband, Oliver and Mary Demory and husband, Leslie, all of Lovettsville; a son, Thomas Reed of Knoxville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many family members and friends.

Mr. Reed was preceded in death by four sisters, Blanche Dixon, Mary Mainhart, Sarah Rutherford and Agnes Hanes; two brothers, Amos Harrison and Charles Reed; a son-in-law, Andrew Coates Sr.; and a great-grandson, Nathan Reed.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, with the Rev. Roland England officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
