It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Guy Joseph Chiarolanza of Sterling, VA who passed away suddenly on May 12, 2026 at the age of 54. Guy was born June 30th 1971 in Rochester NY. Guy was the son of the late Guy L. Chiarolanza.

Though Guy’s time with us was unexpectedly cut short, Guy lived a life full of amazing adventures - be it following the Grateful Dead, driving cabs in NYC or captaining boats on the waterways of DC, Guy had no fear of trying new things big or small.

Guy was an active member of the community volunteering with the United Service Organization (USO) as well as the local Moose & Elks lodges. Guy will always be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his amazing charisma and his ever-present smile. Guy loved being on the water and was happiest in a boat or fishing for king salmon in the rivers of upstate NY. He was also a lover of history, antiques, old books, music and his multitude of Rottweilers over the years.

Guy is survived by his wife Carey, his mother Mary Ellen (Bywater) Burke, his two sisters Christina (Daniel) Vad and Andrea (Jack) Jackson as well as two nieces & many dear friends and extended relatives.

In honoring Guy’s wishes, the family will hold a Celebration of Life for close friends & relatives at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to FOHA (Friends of Homeless Animals) or USO (United Service Organization).
