Hannelore Fehlberg passed away quietly in her sleep on May 18, 2016 at Heritage Hall in Leesburg, VA.
Hannelore was born in Germany on June 1, 1930. She is predeceased by her parents, Karl and Erna Bartelt, sister Rosemarie Novak, and brother Fritz Bartelt.
After WWII, Hannelore moved to England to be a nurse's aide in the Veteran Hospitals. It was there that she met her husband, Hans Lassek (also born in Germany) and they had one daughter. In 1957, Hannelore emigrated to the US with her husband and daughter.
She lived in New Jersey, Massachusetts and for the past 20 years in Northern Virginia, where she worked at the George Washington Mount Vernon Estate. Hannelore so enjoyed working there, meeting people from all over the world, especially people from Germany. She was extremely proficient in needlework and crochet.
Hannelore is survived by her daughter Janet and husband Walter Sobie and grandson Adrian Sobie.
