Harriet Rae Mang Newton
She was born April 17, 1928 in Leesburg, Virginia and died April 13, 2020 in Columbia, Maryland.  She was 92 years old.

She and her husband, Claude Edwin Newton were married for 62 years and had retired to Wilmington, NC.  before his passing in 2016.  She is survived by her 2 children.  Her son, Peter Newton of Clarksville, Maryland and her daughter, Terri Herb of Palm Coast, Florida and her son in law Chuck also Palm Coast.

She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren.  Sarah Newton of Clarksville, Maryland,
Natalee Herb of Apopka, Florida, Whitley Herb Medina of Raleigh, North Carolina, and
Charlie Herb of Denver, Colorado.

Harriet was a long time native of Leesburg Virginia.  Her parents Hazel Grimes and Peter Henry Mang and her brother Frederick Mang were also lifelong natives until there passing.  Harriett graduated from Leesburg High in 1945 where she excelled in sports and art being her true passion.  She went to study art at William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  She continued her love for art and took great pride and value in being a wonderful wife, mother and a great friend to so many that knew her.  There wasn't anything she couldn't do being a great cook, seamstress, upholster, gardener you name it she would figure it out and it would be the best.

Celebration of her life will be announced in the upcoming months when it is safe to gather.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association
