Harry F. Geib, Jr. died on January 29, 2019. Harry was born in Lebanon, PA to Harry and Elizabeth Geib. During high school he moved to Arlington, VA and graduated from Washington and Lee High School. Harry attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated in 1959. He was an accomplished trumpet player who played with the Highty-Tighty Marching Band at VPI; the group was selected to march in the 1957 inaugural parade for Dwight D. Eisenhower. Harry was a member of various dance and jazz bands, favoring the big band music of the day as well as the talents of Harry James and Maynard Ferguson. He was also a member of the Corps of Cadets and the German Club. Harry resided in McLean, VA with his family for 52 years, 40 of which he spent working in sales and management positions in the Moving and Storage industry.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Geib, his children Harry F. Geib, III (Janet), daughter Paula G. Lackey and his grandchildren Bryan Geib, Kaitlyn Geib, Tara Lackey and Erin Lackey. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brendan Lackey. There will be a private family service and a celebration of life at a later date.
