Harvey Lee Huey went to be with the Lord and passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 6th in Ashburn, VA. He was born in Avon, Illinois on June 9, 1924 and he lived a long full life to the age of 94. He is treasured and survived by his daughter, Susan Huey Bever and her husband Bob and his son, Robert Davis Huey and his wife Susan. He is also greatly loved by his four grandchildren, Sarah Huey Bever, Emily Bever Nichols and her husband Nathanael, Daniel Arley Bever, Wilson Harvey Bever and his wife Baricia. Three great grandchildren brought him joy as well, Ezra and Boaz Nichols and Sienna Bever. He counted his 18 nieces and nephews as great blessings in his life.

He is predeceased in death by the love of his life, Roberta Davis Huey, his wife of 61 years. He is also predeceased by his parents Samuel Robert Huey and Hester Carter Huey and his brother, Robert C. Huey, and his 2 sisters, Pat Doolittle and Barbara Davis.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Christalene Wallace for her years of care and friendship to our father.

Harvey grew up in northwest Washington, DC and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. As a young man, he played the trumpet in a neighborhood orchestra, the high school band, and the Redskins band prior to serving in the Army during WWII in Europe. He graduated from American University where he played basketball and was a member of the ATO fraternity. He received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He received the top score in State of Maryland in passing the CPA exam. He touched numerous individuals and businesses in his career running Huey & Associates, P.C., one of the oldest public accounting firms in the Washington area, alongside both his father Sam and son Rob for over 60 years.

Harvey loved spending time with his family, all things baseball (from the Senators to the Nationals), reading, and a good meal. He demonstrated his faith in a real and personal way by his gentle love, integrity and a steady hand. He brought joy, laughter and love to all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 18 at 11:30 AM in the Farmwell Building at Ashby Ponds Retirement Community. 21170 Ashby Ponds Blvd, Ashburn, VA. 20147

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 am at Providence Cemetery.  The cemetery is located on route 687, Providence Road, Bohannon in Mathews County, Virginia.
