Helen Louise
Babarsky
March 31, 1929 – November 5, 2020
Helen Louise Babarsky of Leesburg, Va died on November 5, 2020 at the Adler Center for Caring in Aldie VA in the presence of her family.
Helen was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania on March 31, 1929, the youngest of 11 children. She was the daughter of Teresa and Dominic Calderone, Italian immigrants to this country.
Helen's life took her from a small town in western Pennsylvania to the wider world of the Washington DC area and eventually retirement in Lake Monticello, Virginia. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; she loved her family fiercely and was a loyal friend. Italian through and through, she was always planning the next big family meal & seized every opportunity to bring people together. Food, music, dance, & people nourished her soul and she shared her warmth and hospitality freely. Helen lives on in the hearts of her large, fun-loving family (and the countless memories and holiday traditions) who will continue to embrace the ways in which she celebrated life.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richard Babarsky, and nine of her siblings. She is survived by her sister Genna Olson of Burbank Ca.
Helen is survived by her six children; four daughters , Paula Flohr and spouse Bruce, Debra Babarsky, Diane Merna, and Doreen McLaughlin and spouse Jim; her two sons, Richard Babarsky and spouse Barbara, and Joseph Babarsky and spouse Judy; her thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer Powers and spouse James, Lisa Wilhelm and spouse Jay, David Poole and spouse Megan, Adam Babarsky and spouse Vanessa, Joseph Babarsky and spouse James, Domenique Gummow and spouse Randy, Ryan Babarsky and spouse Chris, Kathleen Babarsky and spouse Chris, Hank McLaughlin and Jack McLaughlin, Matt Ward and spouse Alex, and Christian and Adam Ward; and her fourteen great-grandchildren, Brooke , Nathan, Valerie, Jocelyn, Aidan, Morgan, Violet, Cassidy, Asa, Ariel, Linnea, Kirsten, Kellan, Bodhi, Ben and Jack.
