Helen Frances Dollarton, 63, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Fairfax, Virginia.

Born on February 11, 1963, at Sibley Hospital in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late John Dunn Arnold and Marie Helen Lee. Though she spent the last 31 years as a resident of Leesburg, she grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, where she attended Little Flower School and Walt Whitman High School. She later went on to attend the University of Maryland.

A woman of remarkable capability and drive, she notably built a cabin at just 24 years old. Her professional life was dedicated to recreation, and she shared her skills with her community for many years as an American Red Cross CPR instructor. She was a woman of many interests—an avid photographer, a spring board diver, basketball and softball player, and someone who loved camp life. At home, she was known for her constant creativity, always envisioning and accomplishing new home improvement projects. She was an animal lover leaving behind her dear cat, Peanut who held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James, and her beloved son, Kendall. She also leaves behind her siblings: Jeanne Baker, Clare Bailey, Elizabeth Arnold, and Steve Arnold; two nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, and one great-nephew. She is further survived by her extended Dollarton family and many dear friends.

A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, April 27th from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg.
