Henry M. "Hank" Canfield, 98, of Sterling, VA passed away on September 4, 2011. He was born on September 4, 1913 in Waterbury, CT to Harry M. and Florence Canfield. "Poppy" is the father of Ellen Canfield Ellis (Joseph R.) of Sterling, Virginia, Bette Canfield Warner (Robert) of Hamptonville, NC and Roger H. Canfield (Sadie) of Foster City, CA. He leaves three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Hank retired from United Airlines after forty-two years of service in 1978. He attended Boeing School of Aeronautics in Oakland, CT and held a commercial pilot's license in the 1930's.
