Holly Elizabeth Fuller was born on October 1, 1989, in Leesburg, Virginia and passed on November 17, 2024, at the young age of 35. She died peacefully after a long hard-fought 2-year battle with leukemia. Holly is survived by her husband, Austin Brandt, (Washington, DC), her parents, Robert Fuller and Joy Spencer-Fuller, (Washington, DC and Marco Island, FL), her siblings Dodd Fuller and spouse Lizzie, (Arlington, Virginia) and Ellen Fuller Southerland and spouse Blake, (St. Petersburg, FL), and her beloved dog, Gryff.
Holly grew up in Purcellville, VA, graduating from Notre Dame Academy. She continued her education at Wake Forest University graduating cum laude with B.A. degrees in Political Science and Religion and a minor in Arabic. She was in Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Mortar Board, Political Science Honor Society Pi Sigma Alpha, Religion Studies Honor Society Theta Alpha Kappa, Wesley Interfaith Council and a spirited Screaming Deacon. Holly furthered her education at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville attaining a Master's Degree with distinction in Foreign Affairs.
Holly met her husband Austin in 2017. They knew within minutes it was true love. They were married in Crozet, Virginia on October 9, 2021. They were loving soul mates.
Holly had 10 years of Federal Service working for FEMA. She loved her job and all that it brought. While at FEMA she filled the following roles: Human Resource Specialist, Operational Planner, Planning Specialist, Training and Exercise Specialist of the Pacific Area while living in Hawaii, Deputy Planning Section Chief of the National Capital Region, and currently was Planning Section Chief. Her deployments included, Presidential Inaugurations, Presidential Addresses and 2018 State of Unions, Gotham Shield Improvised Nuclear Device Exercise, Hurricane Maria Response team in Puerto Rico, Hurricane Florence Response in North Carolina, Covid Liaison to American Samoa, 2022 State of Union Address, and 2022 Africa Leaders' Summit.
Holly was a lover of life, and she tried to experience it to the fullest. She traveled the world at any opportunity whether it was school, work or leisure. Holly had already visited 6 of the 7 continents. Holly was known for her grace, passion, kind heart and unwavering dedication to her husband, family, co-workers and her treasured friends. Holly's presence brought light into every room she entered. Her absence will leave a void in all the hearts that knew her. Though she may have lost her cancer battle and may be gone, her spirit will live on in the memories and love she shared with us all. Holly Fuller will be deeply missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE., Leesburg, VA 20176. A service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:30 am at Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg, VA 20176.
