Mrs. Hortense (Tense) Young Jackson, 82, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Monday, April 2nd, 2018 at Great Falls Assisted Living surrounded by family and loved ones.

She was born on December 11th, 1935 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Matthew P. and Edith V. Young.

She was a long time former resident of Oak Island, NC. She was employed by the U.S. Government for 44 years before retiring as the chief of traffic management at Sunny Point Military Ocean Terminal in 1998.

Preceding her in death was her husband Reginald (Bill) Jackson of Oak Island, NC.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Roller of Leesburg, VA; 2 grandchildren Angela Steele (Colin) of Kearneysville, WV and Valerie Jerasa (Eric) of Leesburg, VA; great-grandchildren Rosslyn and Cora Steele and Veronica Jerasa; brother Harold Young, of Fayetteville; sister-in-law Nick Young of Fayetteville and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
