HUGO ARRAYA CARMONA
June 4, 1929 – November 22, 2017
Leesburg — Hugo Arraya Carmona, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
Mr. Arraya is survived by his loving, loyal and devoted wife of 53 years, Lluviza Kusjanovic Arraya; his sons, Vincent Arraya, Hugo Arraya (Patricia), Michael Kusjanovic (Katherine); his daughter, Cynthia Wiltshire (William); nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, as well as many close friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Marco Arraya.
Born in Oruro, Bolivia, the son of Andrea and Liberio Arraya, he immigrated to the United States in 1963, proudly becoming a citizen of his new country. He worked diligently and sacrificed much, alongside his wife, so that their children would be afforded more opportunity.
Mr. Arraya was a most gifted artist. He was an avid painter, sculptor, and photographer, who also enjoyed reading, listening to classical music, and traveling.
Family and friends are invited to the Colonial Funeral Home, located at 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE in Leesburg, Saturday, December 9, 2017. The gathering will begin at ten o'clock in the morning, with a service to celebrate Mr. Arraya's life at eleven o'clock. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
