India Rani Taylor was born on February 25, 1980, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Marion Glenn and Gina Taylor, and was lovingly raised alongside her stepfather, Kenny Jameson. She was the eldest of four siblings, later joined by Harold Taylor, Britain Stansberry Taylor, and Brian Jameson.
India had the privilege of growing up in Northern Virginia, where she planted deep roots and made lasting memories and friendships.
India and Damian Barden are the proud parents of Lexus and Ailea Barden. She was also an aunt who loved fiercely to Haylie, Morgan, and Mikala, and a beloved godmother to many—too many to name.
India was a sparkler, like her favorite holiday, the Fourth of July. Bright, full of light, quick to laugh, a little mischievous, and impossible to ignore, she lit up the space around her. She was always drawing people in and left wonder long after the light faded, a “forget me not”. She had a way of making moments feel like celebrations.
Traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people called to her adventurous independent personality and filled her soul.
India also leaves behind deep friendships and extended but close to the heart family members Grandma Peggy Calvillo, Tania Keys, Tiara Taylor, Lillie Glenn, Ebony Denise Rubeck, Gina Harris and so many others that may not be mentioned.
In her 45 years, she experienced a lot of life, accomplished much, and truly lived fully. Though she leaves us here, she now joins our sacred ancestors. Her light remains with us always, a sparkler in our lives forever.
