Jacob W Bernhard, 79, of Berkeley Springs, WV passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg. Born October 16, 1935 in Berkeley Springs, WV to the late Mary Myrtle Hovermale and Raymond Elwood Bernhard. He was a U.S. Army veteran from October 1958 until October 1960 and November 1961 until August 1962.

Survivors include his two daughters, Brenda Ford and Glenda (Kay) Buxton; and two granddaughters, Brittany Siegel and Alicia Essex-Libby; and two great-granddaughters, Bailey and Riley Libby; three sisters, Bernice Stotler of Vienna, VA, Portia Henry, and Janet Newby of Berkeley Springs WV; one brother, Raymond Bernhard of Berkeley Springs, WV and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Bernhard; his son Jacob Bernhard Jr; two sisters, Alto Bernhard and Glenna Bowers; and three brothers, Robert Swink, Mark Swink and Richard Swink.

Services will be held Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Pastor Larry Tomlinson will officiate.
