Jacqueline Owens passed away on June 10th, 2023, at age 96.  Jackie is survived by her only son Michael, daughter in law Alicia, and granddaughter Marley, as well as family members in her native France.

Jackie was born in a suburb of Paris, France.  Her French Army hero father passed at her age of 8, and she was raised by her mother, Suzanne, as a single parent.  Jackie and her mother survived the Nazis and the Second World War by fleeing the city for the countryside.  Towards the end of the war, she met her future husband Shelton, a US Army soldier from North Carolina, at a dance in Paris.  Falling in storybook love, Jackie subsequently moved from France in 1947 to become Shelton's bride, and they eventually resided in Arlington, VA.  Jackie worked as an Accountant for the French Embassy in Washington D.C., for over thirty-five years.  She was also caretaker for both her husband and mother during the latter years of their lives, as they endured health problems.

Afterword, while living in Florida in her seventies, Jackie became an avid bowler, who once rolled a 600 set, and she also became quite a dancer with her friend and dance partner Bill.

Those who knew Jackie will remember what a strong individual she was, and how she brought joy and cheer to all those who surrounded her.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
