James Benjamin "Ben" Bingham
Of Bluemont, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Pittsburgh, PA following his final battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). He was 67.
Ben loved God, family, country and his animals. He was a truly remarkable man who found great enjoyment and satisfaction by doing for others. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family, friends, and his beloved grandchildren.
Ben worked for 40 years in the defense industry in Washington, DC. His many contributions to the defense of the United States are a source of pride for his family and many colleagues.
Ben is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Susan, his son James Jr (Sheila), his daughter Jennifer, grandchildren Laura Rose, James III, and Michael, his brother Mike, his nephew Michael, and niece Kathyrn and countless friends who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, December 21st at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. A funeral mass will be performed on Monday, December 22nd at 10 am at St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 1020 W Main Street, Berryville, VA 22611. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
