James "Jimmie" Thomas Dodson, 64, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away on December 10, 2024, at Inova Loudoun Hospital. Born on June 28, 1960, in Winchester, Virginia. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents James M. Dodson and Mary Ann Dodson.

Jimmie proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Corporal in the 56th Field Artillery Brigade. Most of his military career was served as a Military Police Officer and bodyguard of Generals. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to the community by serving as a Corporal in the Leesburg Police Department. Jimmie loved Leesburg and took pride in helping to keep it safe for us. Later in life, Jimmie worked alongside his father at Dodson's Coffee Service further strengthening their strong bond. Jimmie also worked at Home Depot in the garden department for 17 years where he helped customers with his knowledge and shared his sense of humor. Jimmie will be remembered for his cherished time with family, his love of fishing, and his steadfast loyalty to the Washington Redskins. His laughter, loyalty, sense of humor and generous spirit will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 34 years Sarah Chenault Dodson, his children, James C. Dodson and Sarah C McClain; his grandchildren, Eric McClain, Virginia Dodson, James F. Dodson, and William Dodson; and his siblings, Donna Dicker, Barbara Bowman, Judy Cunningham, and Linda Smalley and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 5th from 2-4 at the Greenwood Firehall in Winchester.
