James Robert Muse (87) of Leesburg, VA passed away on August 26, 2024. He was born in Ashburn, VA on July 14, 1937, the son of the late Ruby Smith Muse and Gentry Lawrence Muse. His family moved to Harpers Ferry, WV in the early 1940's and he graduated from Harpers Ferry High School in 1955.

Jim served in the US Air Force from September 1955 to December 1959 at various locations in the US and overseas. His last posting was at Harve Air Force Station, Montana - a place he dearly loved. After leaving the Air Force he worked as a communications specialist for the federal government. He retired from FEMA in 1996.
Jim was an AVID minor league/major league baseball fan. He could quote the statistics of players and the records of teams past (especially the Washington Senators) and present. He was happiest when watching and analyzing a Washington Nationals baseball game.
Jim was a "regular" at the Leesburg Senior Center. He would arrive late morning, stay for lunch, socialize with friends then head home for a nap before that night's baseball game.

Jim is survived by 15 nieces and nephews and other relatives, special friends, and neighbors. He was predeceased by 2 sisters and 4 brothers, including his twin, Hugh Muse.

A Celebration of Jim's Life was held at the Muse and Reed Chapel, Colonial Funeral Home, Leesburg, VA on August 29, 2024.
