James Lynwood Saunders, Jr., 81, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away September 29, 2018, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late James L. Saunders and Evelyn Snellings.

Jim's career as a computer specialist with the Department of Defense concluded with his retirement at Fort Lee, VA.  He was a talented cabinet maker and enjoyed sailing.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters Lynn Hoffmann and husband, Mark, of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Jennene Wilson and husband John, of Tarpon Springs, FL; Step-daughter Kelly Rush and husband Dave of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren Katy Maitland, Daniel Maitland, Luke Hoffmann, Montana Wilson, Emma Wilson, Samantha Rush and Patrick Rush; and brother Marvin Saunders of Urbanna, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 11 a.m., Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church in Ashburn, VA, with Pastor Bill Mann officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's memory to Lutheran World Relief, P.O. Box 17061, Baltimore, MD 21297-1061.
