James E. Weight, 70, of Waynesboro passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at home after battling a heart condition for 3 ½ years. He was born April 10, 1940,in Bellwood, PA., to Lillian and James K. Weight. James was a 1958 graduate of Bellwood Antis High School, Bellwood, PA., and attended Penn State College in Altoona, PA. He retired in 1999 as a Freight Transportation Management Specialist for the Military Management Command, Department of Army in Falls Church, Virginia, after 40 years of government service. James loved reading, crossword puzzles, baseball, bowling and traveling. He was a member of NARFE Chapter 1063, Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Melinda L. Walters, in 2008. James is survived by his loving wife of 24 ½ years, Lois; a stepson, Michael D. Walters and wife Holly of Waynesboro, PA; and a grandson, Brandon Walters of Waynesboro. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 12:00-1:00 pm., with a service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Virginia.
