Jane Buland, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the age of 73. She was born March 2, 1945 to Russell H. Horton, COL (Ret.) and Eleanor Devine Horton at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.. As a US Army dependent, her childhood was spent in Japan and Germany, and later returned to Arlington Hall, graduating from Bishop O'Connell High School in 1963. She worked 22 years for Loudoun County Public Schools and retired in 2010. Jane was a faithful Washington Redskins fan and avid reader. She is preceded in death by her loving parents and sister, Elizabeth "Betsey" Stone. She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Sarah) Horton, as well as close friend and sister-in-law, Marji Ball. She leaves behind two daughters, Tracie (Chris) Young and Tiffany (Travis) Castleman, and six grandchildren: Aidan, Corbin, Ian, and Wesley, Kayleigh, Theo. She was also a beloved aunt to Sharon Keniston, Russell Horton, Christopher Horton, Michael Horton, Kate Davis, Julie Battaglia, Paula Hoover, Ellen Pizzonia, and Jason Stone. The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg at 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE, Leesburg, VA, from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 7 ^th . A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Apostle, Roman Catholic Church, 101 Oak Crest Manor Dr., NE, Leesburg, VA, on March 8 ^th at 1pm.
