Obituary

Janet Lee Flores, daughter of the late Adolph Edwin and Golda Mae Uhl Bergbauer, was born on April 4, 1937 in Kendallville, Indiana in her grandparent's home. She departed this earthly life at the age of 77 on February 6, 2015.

Janet grew up in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Chicago State University Teachers College in 1958. She worked for 20 years as an elementary school teacher and loved working with young children. Janet and her family moved to Vienna,, Virginia in 1976. She returned to school at the age of 45 and earned a degree to become a Registered Nurse. Janet worked as an RN in Virginia and Florida.
Janet and her husband, Alan Flores, moved to Venice, Florida in 1998 to enjoy their retirement. They had been married 52 years when Alan passed away in 2011.

Janet was an avid reader with a knack for crossword puzzles. She liked to travel and enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, Germany, Italy, China, and Singapore.
Janet was a kind, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother. Her gentle, poised, and steady nature was appreciated and enjoyed by her family.

She leaves to cherish very fond memories: two daughters, Elena Holtz of Oak Hill, Virginia and Beth (John) Poffenbarger of Leesburg, Virginia; one brother, Bruce (Jean) Bergbauer of North Fort Meyers, Florida; three grandchildren, Sara Holtz, Rebecca Campbell, and Eric Holtz.

Family and friends will gather at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8,2015 at 2:00pm until time of service beginning at 3:00pm with the Rev. Barney Schwanke officiating.
